American Blind Skiing Foundation
The American Blind Skiing Foundation received a $525 grant to support its 2025 event at Alpine Valley, in Troy, WI for Chicago Lighthouse, which serves people who are blind, visually impaired, disabled, as well as veterans. Participating in the day on snow were seven athletes, three teachers and a support group consisting of one family member and a driver. Assisting the athletes were seven guides and six instructors from Wilmot Mountain, Wilmot, WI and Alpine Valley. The event proved inspiring for a visually impaired teacher who took up skiing and a participant who brought his visually impaired sister to a future ABSF session.
