My passion for skiing started during college. I spent 1 year working at Boyne Mt. and 3 in Steamboat Springs, Co. Back in MI, I started instructing at Mt. Brighton, received my Level 2 certification, helped start a children’s program and currently work with the XLR8 racing program. I have over 40 years of combined teaching experience at Mt. Brighton and Boyne Mt. PSIA-C has provided me with valuable training, great experiences, and wonderful friendships.

My previous time on the board as the Vice President was a great opportunity to work with a great team and I was able to help facilitate:
  • Initiating the establishment of a program to make sure that the education staff is evaluated and stays current with national standards. This was spurred by member feedback and I supported this program.
  • Moving the division to policy governance
  • Getting our new web site in place and helping to keep it updated

I currently serve on the Central Education Foundation (a 501(C)(3)) registered non-profit. The CEF is a charitable foundation, working to provide increased access, grow participation, and help anyone with the desire find a role in the snowsports industry.
With the knowledge I have gained while serving on the board, I am looking for the opportunity, with your support, to serve again on the board of directors. I will do my best to represent you in getting the best value for your membership. It’s great to know that our organization is growing and I hope to be a part of helping to shape where we are going in the future. Thank you for your support.

My passion for skiing really ignited while working at Yellowstone National Park the summer after my second year of college. While watching a ski video one evening, I realized that I really wanted to get more involved in skiing. I spent the next year, working at Boyne Mt., Michigan and then moved to Steamboat Springs, CO for 3 years. After moving back to MI to finish school, I started instructing at Mt. Brighton and received my PSIA-AASI Level 2 Certification. PSIA-AASI-C has provided me with valuable training, great ski experiences, and wonderful friendships. I have over 39 years of teaching experience at Mt. Brighton where I helped to start up a children’s program and currently work with the XLR8 Racing Program. I also have over 20 years of teaching experience at Boyne Mt.. In 2016 I received my USSA Level 100 Coaching Certification.

I retired from a career as an IT (Information Technology) professional, where I spent 20 years in the Automotive Industry and 10 years in the Health Care Industry. I am really looking forward to having more time to spend on the hill, working with the PSIA-AASI-C Division and the XLR8 Racing Program!

I have had the opportunity to attend many PSIA-AASI Academies over the years and have attended Interski in Ushuaia Argentina and Bulgaria.
