What has been your best sliding experience to date? There have been many best sliding experiences in the past but I will highlight this season’s best. My family and I took on Trestle at Winter Park. The trial is a mogul run. It was a joy for my wife and I to see how capable our pre-teen boys, one skier and one snowboarder, were in the bumps.
Bio Seven seasons ago, my wife and I introduced skiing to our, then four and six year-old, sons (and things have been going downhill ever since). At the end of that season, my eldest son wanted to learn to snowboard. I’d been skiing since the six grade and had taken lessons throughout my youth so I was prepared to ski, not snowboard. However, I had been doing some snowboarding from time-to-time since I picked up a snowboard in 1992. It was enough experience for me to become a snowboard instructor and teach my son. I’m now in my sixth season at Buck Hill and my fourth season as a development team coach for slopestyle snowboarding. I’ve achieved Level 3 Snowboard Certification, Freestyle Level 1 and two seasons, my wife and I, in lieu of date night, attained Level 1 Alpine Certification followed by Children’s Specialist 1 last season.
I have been employed with U.S. Bank for 23 years in the asset management division. I am also a Planning Commissioner in the City of Lakeville and served as Chair for three years.
