The Central Senior Specialist Prep Webinar** (LI certification, part I) is a two-evening (2 hours each). Attendance & active discussion is mandatory, and both sessions must be complete alongside the On-Snow Hybrid Exam**.
**The SRS1 is only open to current PSIA AASI Members with at least a Level I Certification.
The webinar encourages participants to apply the information included in the PSIA-NW Senior Specialist Manual, their professional knowledge, as well as an understanding of the fundamentals. The webinar clinic leader will add further information to the concepts and content introduced in the workbook.
The use of hypothetical scenarios to which participants will apply standard exercise, modified in their approach and execution to the senior student.

The Online Senior Specialist Workbook must be completed before the On-Snow, and it is highly recommended to complete the workbook before the prep webinar.

The On-snow exam will consist of one, six-hour day - All three portions must be completed to attain Senior Specialist 1 Designation.

The on-snow is a one-day event in which candidates review the benchmarks, gaining insight into movements, modifications, and underlying reasons behind them. Candidates will be assessed on their teaching and riding, including task demos.
The Central Senior Specialist 1 course encourages participants to apply the information included in the PSIA-NW Senior Specialist Manual, their professional knowledge, and an understanding of the fundamentals- in completing the workbook, prep webinar discussions, and during the on-snow portion.
The Central Senior Specialist On-Snow portion will add substance to the concepts and content introduced in the workbook and the Hybrid Webinar. The On-Snow portion will use real-time & hypothetical scenarios to apply standard exercises, modified in both their approach and execution relative to the senior student, and address how presentation framing & phrasing differs by the student; seniors are no exception.
The Senior Specialist Designation is for those instructors who wish to understand the effects of aging on physical performance, visual acuity, teaching and learning new, returning, and advancing skiers and snowboarders who fit the "Senior" category.

The Hybrid format consists of 2 two-hour *virtual webinar sessions and 1 One-Day On-Snow Exam.
The on-snow portion may be hosted as a group event or in our round-robin format. The format of events is based on the current state and resort guidelines.
