Course Description:

Get ready for summer cross-training with the Rollerblade Skate to Ski program and Urban Slopes SkyTech Sport Ski Simulator! Join Rollerblade ambassador and National Team Alumni Heidi Ettlinger to explore using the Skate to Ski program with specific activities to enhance your skills and the fun factor of training for ski-readiness. This event is a great opportunity to discover how adding a summer of inline skating will hone your accurate and relevant skill focus, while combining heaps of repetition in a consistent environment, plus quality feedback.

Standard education fee/pp includes access to inline skates/pads, the Skate to Ski program, and an introduction to Urban Slopes Ski Simulators. A non-member fee ($25) will apply to all non-members participating.

DETAILS: 

• Inline skates and protective pads are provided by Rollerblade.
• Please bring your own skates if you have them. We recommend bringing our own chair for putting on skates. 
• You will need to provide your own helmet (mandatory) and we encourage wearing protective pads.
• You may bring your own ski boots to use at Urban Slopes or use their gear.

Urban Slopes

Heat up your snow sports skills without the chill factor with a trip to Urban Slopes. Beginner or master, skier or snowboarder, our simulators and ski instructors can sharpen skills, teach new techniques, accelerate speeds, and build stamina for the ski season.

Additional Event Details:

After lunch, we'll join the staff inside Urban Slopes using the SkyTechSport ski simulator. This is a game-changing tool for skiers (and snowboarders) who are looking to develop balance, reaction time, visual acuity, plus... it's a lot of fun. This is a snow sports experience that everyone can enjoy! Urban Slopes instructors have worked with people of all ages, from 2 to 82! Beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders, racers, and Olympic pros benefit from our simulated experience. Whether you seek to learn or perfect your skills, recover from an injury, or get in a good workout, the Urban Slopes experience is for you. 

The afternoon will include the opportunity to return to skates and pair the morning activities with the ski simulator practice together. Participants will be able to pace their day according to their fitness levels, we encourage bringing snacks, beverages, a chair for breaks.

Event Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (CT) (11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (ET) Please arrive at 9:30 to allow time for parking & gearing up.

What to Bring/Details:

• Rollerblade provides inline skates and protective pads.
• Please bring your skates if you have them. We recommend bringing your own chair for putting on skates. 
• You will need to provide your own helmet (mandatory), and we encourage wearing protective pads.
• You may bring your ski boots to use at Urban Slopes or use their gear.  
• Please plan to pack a lunch or leave the site for a nearby vendor.

Event Timeline & Details:

Please meet at 9:30 AM (CT) in the parking lot outside Urban Slopes. The event will start at 10:00 AM (CT). Please bring your inline skates (If you have them), a helmet, pads, and a chair. Rollerblade will provide additional skates & protective pads, including a range of sizes, to accommodate any participants that may not have a pair of their own.

After Lunch, participants will proceed to Urban Slopes. Participants may bring their Ski Boots to use or use the Boots provided at Urban Slopes. The afternoon will include the opportunity to return to skates and pair the morning activities with the ski simulator practice together. Participants can pace their day according to their fitness levels; we encourage bringing snacks, beverages, and a chair for breaks.
