Course Description:

Prerequisites: None

Course outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this clinic, you will be able to:

  • Describe the most common adaptive snowsports disciplines
  • Determine whether or not one of your students might benefit from an adaptive snowsports lesson

This course is beneficial if you:

  • Want to understand the various adaptive snowsports disciplines so you can answer questions when your students ask "What's going on over there?"
  • Need guidelines for when you should refer a student to an adaptive snowsports program

Course description:

This clinic uses interactive exercises to give you a better understanding of the types of students who may benefit from an adaptive snowsports lesson. The most common adaptive snowsports disciplines are described, along with simple guidelines for you to determine whether or not to refer your students to an adaptive snowsports program.

There is movement involved in this clinic, so plan to participate in an area that allows you to sit, stand, and walk around (based on your physical abilities to do so). During part of the clinic, you will be asked to sit in a chair with a stiff back (that comfy couch won't work for this exercise).

The clinic consists of one two-hour online session.

Format: This clinic utilizes Ring Central Meetings*, a web-hosted service for online video conferencing. Before the class, you are given a link for the online meeting. The presentation is shown via the sharing of the instructor's desktop. Throughout the course, there are discussions and activities to encourage participation.

Many mobile devices do not allow for full participation in online meetings. It is strongly recommended that you use a computer with working video, speaker, and microphone capabilities to connect to the meeting via the internet. If your computer does not have speaker and microphone capabilities, you may use a phone for the audio portion of the webinar.

For more information on how to prepare to use RingCentral Meetings, please click here.

*The link to the online meeting room is included in the event confirmation email. You will receive this confirmation after your payment is processed in the registration portal. Please contact us at info@psia-c.org if you do not receive your email with in 24 hours of registering.

Additional Event Details:
