** Hello Members,
We know you are getting excited for winter- it’s obvious from all of the email’s, calls, and comments on social media.

Just a quick heads-up regarding those emails. We are loading events on the calendar as quickly as we can- it is a lengthy process to build the event and location details, and like many of your resorts, we started late because we simply did not have all the information needed to move forward. Currently on our website you may see only Alpine events, perhaps webinars and Level I certifications. Rest assured, we are adding events in all disciplines every minute of the (working) day—certainly they’ll be live within the next two weeks. So, to the person who wrote “Snowboarding? more like no-boarding…”—we hear you, and we’ve got you covered. Patience please.

Why no paper calendar as in years past? Our plan is to hold many smaller events, close to you. As we’ve all learned from Covid-19, everything is subject to change. This means no “Major Events”—so no “Major Events Calendar”. The best way to find event info this year will be on the calendar at www.psia-c.org, or www.thesnowpros.org
In fact, we have several great events coming up soon- like Joe Kagan’s Motor Skills Learning and Acquisition (https://thesnowpros.org/events/event-calendar/?cal-month=11&cal-year=2020&event-types=5&divisions=3&event=891#psia-calendar) , and his Skiing Biomechanics (https://thesnowpros.org/events/event-calendar/?cal-month=11&cal-year=2020&event-types=5&divisions=3&event=950#psia-calendar) , and not just in Central either. There are great courses for credit from all 8 PSIA-AASI divisions. Please try to find an event online or near you- and if there isn’t one, ask your director about scheduling one with us (the only restrictions are that yours is a member school, and that there is enough interest to fill a course).

Another question we are getting- What if you get sick, will you be charged a cancellation fee? No, we are not charging a cancellation fee for on-snow events- please don’t come to an event if you are sick or a risk to others. This policy means that as an organization we must be truly vigilant about our costs, because group sizes may easily dip below the minimum, and we can’t push capacity in anticipation of cancellations and still be practicing safe protocols. It’s a catch-22. We will still have a late registration fee- the cancellation fee policy covers you if you are anxious about registering for an event, so register early!

The remaining “big” request we are getting is for membership cards. This season, when paying dues- many members may have missed the “opt-in” button for a physical membership card. Remember that your digital member card is always available via your profile on thesnowpros.org site, and this works really well when at a resort ticket window. For those of you who paid by check, and did not realize that a physical card was an opt-in choice, give us a call at 303-987-9390 if you require a physical card.
Want to see how easy it is to access your digital card? Watch this video https://vimeo.com/474035061

PSIA-AASI Central is moving forward with a full calendar of events and clinics, online and in-person. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the screen or on the snow.

Executive Director
