The Loppet Foundation

The Loppet Foundation received a $1,000 grant to purchase equipment for its Minne-Loppet program, offered free to 1,000 fourth and fifth graders attending 10 schools in the North Minneapolis area. The Loppet Foundation provides equipment, warm clothing, coaching, and grooms ski trails at the schools.

Sessions for the 10-week program began in December with a classroom nutrition lesson, followed by on-snow ski instruction and skill-based games.

The program culminated with The Loppet Foundation’s City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival Feb. 4, 2023. With other skiers, skijorers and snowshoers, the students raced in a fun environment surrounded by friends, family and the community.
